What happens when an international makeup artist from America creates a charity to make a difference in the lives of children in Africa? You get the ‘Brushes of Africa’ Foundation, founded by Thomas Dye. After traveling to Ghana, West Africa a few years ago, and having the opportunity to visit a few orphanages, he had a burden in his heart to do something to make a difference in the lives of the children in that country. ‘Brushes of Africa’ has already made an impact in just a short time by visiting orphanages, collecting books, giving makeovers , volunteering at school races and building positive self-esteem in children, but they are just getting started.

Support a Vision…”Our Vision is to Support Yours”

One core value my mother always taught my sisters and I was to “give back” to others. Many people feel that you have to have a lot of money, time or experience to make a difference in the lives of someone less fortunate than you are, but really all you need is a giving heart.

After volunteering for and supporting so many organizations over the years, I felt it was finally my time to launch out and form my own charity. But little did I know that God had another plan for me. In a matter of a few weeks I had at least five charities contact me for support and not just monetarily, but they were looking for books, mentors and just someone to believe in their vision.

So after looking over some of their literature and pictures I asked God to show me how I could be a help to more people. On any given day you can search the internet and find hundreds of thousands of individual charities, so I thought to myself  ”do I really need to start my own”. Then I started to remember the times my mother would say to my sisters and I “there’s a blessing in supporting someone else’s vision”, or “if you support someone else’s dreams than yours will come true too.” She was trying to show us how to get the focus off ourselves and put our mind on helping someone else. What we didn’t realize at first was that, that one act of unselfishness would also open doors for us as well.

We’ll the next day I woke up with a smile on my face, because I found my purpose and that was to support the vision of other charities and organizations working to make a difference in the lives of others. On that day ‘Support a Vision‘ was born and I started taking the first steps toward my destiny!

This site will be dedicated to highlighting the charities and organizations we support while creating an avenue to connect them with people who share their vision.

God Bless You,
